QuickTime Alternative is a good alternative to the original QuickTime and is able to play any movie in .mov format. As a bonus, Internet Explorer will play all QuickTime movies that are embedded in a webpage. You do need a media player that is capable of playing QuickTime files. The differences between QuickTime Alternative and Apple Inc's QuickTime are their features, virtual size, and consumption of system resource. QuickTime Alternative includes QuickTime DirectShow filter, plugins for Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Media Player Classic which enables you to play Quicktime files.
